Eaglet Rescued and Returned to Nest, Will The Mother Eagle Harriet Accept the Chick?

I am not afraid to admit I have an eagle obsession and can't stop watching eagle cam here in Florida. iT helps that the nest is just a few miles form here too!

Mother Eagle Harriet on the left has not fed EB since he was returned to the nest. EB is the smaller baby eaglet at the top of the screen. He became entangled in fishing line and was rescued by crane and taken to an aviary facility where the line was removed and he was subsequently returned to the nest.

Since being returned to the nest EB has been lethargic and uninterested in the surroundings. Harriet has ignored EB's return to this point. The larger Eaglet eats it's fill and can barely hold more when Harriet first tries to feed the weakened Eaglet. It almost refuses food, but feeds successfully.

Next we see The Male Eagle return to the nest and begin to feed the larger Eaglet. This, in turn forces Harriet to acknowledge and feed EB. Will it be enough to save EB's Life? It remains to be seen.

Eaglets seldom make it in pairs due to their competitiveness. I was just glad to catch the moment of acceptance!

Meatball Madness on the Grill for Super Superbowl Party Simple Recipe

Do you miss Real Meatballs? The Tender Juicy Ones Grandma Used to Make?
Five Pounds of Meatballs Ready to Grill!
Most modern meatballs are like rubber and have even less flavor from over processing. Wish you could Cook Like Grandma? Lots of things Grandma cooked were easy to make and more wholesome than today's overly prepared foods.

If you make Meatballs the way my Grandmother taught me you can make 5 lbs at a time and freeze them for later and making other dishes. I promise they will always taste better than any meatballs you could buy, even if frozen for months, (ha! Not with my Man!).

Today's game was great and we cooked my famous Super Simple Super Bowl Meatballs for a Hungry Crowd, first on the grill, then we popped it in the crock pot with barbecue sauce. These are so wonderful because they can be cooked with so many different sauces once the meatballs are made.
A Proper Mixing "Nest"
I've made a video showing you how simple ad easy Grandma's way of making perfect meatballs was, and once you try their melt in the mouth, full flavor you'll never eat anyone else's meatballs again. Not even in a restaurant.

You see, back then, Grandma understood meat and how it worked. She handled it from butchering until served at the table. She knew that handling makes tough meat.

Mixing fillers and seasonings was a challenge because the more you mix it, the tougher the meat "dough" becomes. Handled too long your meatballs become sodden rocks and your meatloaf a handy doorstop.

Meatballs cooked on grill for one hour 400 degrees F
A few simple tricks and I'll have you making flavorful meatballs for any occasion, from weddings to Super Bowl Parties. You'll b making 5lbs at a time so you'll have enough to economically feed many hungry people on a budget and maybe freeze a few later for yourself.

Below is my video that walks you through making the perfect meatballs in two easy steps. Soon you will be the talk of your social circle and all your friends will be begging you for your secret. I know you won't miss a pass a dish event anywhere.. even amongst the rich..LOL

4 Bacon Wrap Grill Ideas for Your Superbowl Party Bacon Wrapped Olives?

Your Gathering deserves a meal of Epic Proportions! This means it should be wrapped in Bacon!
Bacon wrapped ground beef burgers
These are 2/3lb burgers wrapped in applewood smoked bacon thick sliced and cross wrapped

Bacon wrapped Cream Cheese Cheddar Jalapeno Bites

Jalapeno Bacon wraps ready to grill

This is one of the most decadent snacks I have ever made, Home made Bacon wrapped Jalapeno Poppers!

Simply wash, slice lengthwise and scrape the seeds from jalapeno peppers. Fill with  sour cream, sprinkle with shredded cheddar and wrap in thick sliced slab bacon.

Bake or grill at 400 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Bacon Wrapped Pork Loin
This is so easy and so obvious, why have we not thought of this before? Go buy a pork loin with no frills, cut it in half, wrap it in bacon and bake 45 minutes at 425 degrees.. The most tender a porkloin can be and the lovely smoked flavor of the bacon lends lightly into the pork loin...
Here's something you simply must try if you are an olive lover! These are bacon wrapped giant garlic stuffed green olives. Simply drain the jar of giant olives, then cut a package of bacon in half width-wise, wrapping the half slice around the olive and placing on tray seam side down. Bake for 30 minutes at 400 degrees.

And Here are the 2/3lb Burgers again, only this time we've used a basket weave using 4 slices of bacon per burger and we've tucked an onion between the bacon and the ground burger patty. This adds at least 15 minutes to the cooking if the onion slices are thick.
Wrap up onion slices in the Bacon Wrapped Burgers, then grill!

How My Dog Sees The World

Here is our lovely rescue Cinnabon training us to know her every desire. She's a wonderful dog even for someone who has limited mobility and function. I guess when we rescued her she took one look and saw my pain, from that dau since she's been at me side tenderly watching over me.

We've been together for three years now and without Cinna and my Cat, Pussy Pants, I wouldn't be here, they are that important to my existence.

Hands Down, Turkey is Number 1 on any Football Fans list! It's also the cheapest meat if you buy frozen a week or more before the Party and thaw in your fridge.

Another inexpensive way to get more mileage from your turkey is to stuff it with a meat based Stuffing and make gravy.

From buying Turkey Loaf, (not recommended), to a full fledged bird with all the fixings, you can find a way to make your turkey special and on budget!

The way I like to cook it in my Holland Convection Grill is to:

Use a double foil pan with a slab of cardboard in between the pans to keep to much heat from transferring to the bottom of the bird.

Make sausage stuffing by browning a pound of ground sausage and with two onions, toss with fresh bread or crouton stuffing, season.. stuff bird and fill second pan with neck, and stuffing to be heated after bird is removed. Keep in a cool place.

Bake at 400-425 degrees using the lb's recommendations online and a meat thermometer as a guide to doneness. After taking the bird out of the grill, place the stuffing pan inside the grill and heat through.

Canned or Loaf Ham Is You Party Friend!
Next on my personal list of inexpensive Super Bowl Party foods is inexpensive Loaf Ham. You can dress it up with pineapple and sweet n sour or barbecue sauce making it look like the more expensive versions of this popular sandwich meat.

If you have many to feed and are pinched for funds, nothing beats a couple of these hams diamond slashed, marinated and then grilled for a couple hours to heat them up.. throw in some sweet potatoes and buy some buns and butter you'll have a hearty full meal that they'll ask for again!

Did Anyone Say Pizza?
Pizza is my Own Super Bowl Sunday Favorite.... The Take Out Pizza Guys are going to shoot me for doing this.. but I have a great way to make frozen and store bought deli pizza into a Deep Dish Masterpiece! I have the entire recipe is HERE.
Pizza is in the Top Three and Holding for Super Bowl Foods for a reason. It's wonderfully filling and and can be customized to your personal tastes.
Fried Chicken Anyone?
Here's a show stopper that makes grown linebackers kneel and beg. Country Fried Chicken. It's cheap, it's well liked, but plan on spending your time tending the fire instead of celebrating..

you may want to consider some chicken wing recipes that you can grill, as well as drumsticks, (which are the bargain of the chicken meat world and people love them!

Whole or halved chickens are an easy grill item and hearty eating!

Country Ribs Barbecued Right!

Of course who can Leave Barbecued Ribs off the list? Especially in the South, a rack of ribs is a requirement and many a Fan has gone early to his grave asking for the recipe of Super Bowl Cooks secret marinade.

I buy Country Boneless ribs for ease of cooking and then use a good cheap barbecue sauce, often combining two or three types for extra zing!

Country ribs just need to be seasoned and baked in a pan for an hour, then add BBQ sauce and let grill until desired doneness. This is another great recipe that requires so little work for such a great result. This also keeps "The Baster" in the family happy.. something about stroking your ribs with some kind of mop is an addiction for some! LOL

I hope these ideas have been helpful to you and helps you save money while making your occasion more epic! We may have downsized and are living in a smaller world but we need to remember that we can still entertain outdoors in style and at a Great Price!

Ambassador Groundhog Still Held as Political Prisoner For Crime Committed by Ancestor

Acting or Silent Scream For Help.. You Be the Judge

Associated Rodent Press - February 2, 2016
I am not sure of the hour, nor day.. all my time being spent in shadow and confinement in an underground prison designed to expose and torment me. My one and only comfort in this sad monotony is my hibernation, my succor, my deliverance from the agony that is my present situation.

But even in this they will not let me rest. Their final cruelty in this political jest is to rip me from my slumber in yet the coldest part of winter, and parade me through the street to the alter of humiliation in the center of town.

There they jeer and shriek at me, inquiring of me the future state of the weather, obviously alluding to my ancestor having been delegated the Ambassador from the Forest Nations sent to warn the humans about Global Climate Change over 200 years ago.

Instead of harkening to The Elders voice they imprisoned my ancestors, subjecting them to the worst form of punishment with no redress or reason given as to why we have been held generation after generation with no trial or chance to ever be released to return to our ancient kingdom.

We fear the very Kingdom we dream of seeing again may not even exist any longer. Our pups, who have discovered a way of accessing the internet, tell us there is a great city where once our forest stood.

Our dream is to one day overpower our Overlords and try to get back to what remains of our kind in the wild. There are flights that go to places with vast fields of open grass and seemingly no human presence. We can ship ourselves anywhere in the world if we are all up on our shots.

Our future generation of Pups will access the computers of the Technicians and alter the files to request a transfer to Africa, or some such suitable place as will take us in as refugees. Until then:

Man Food RV Camp Cooking Grill Pizza the Easy Way!

Manly Deep Dish Homemade Pizza Perfectly!
This is probably the best pizza we have eaten, hands down! We don't even bother trying to find good take out pizza anymore! Man Food Supreme and easy enough for a child to prepare! Cheap! Hearty! Good For you!

It's difficult to justify the price of take out Pizza these days  Even if you do find a good place, it's raw.

So we decided to buy our favorite FROZEN pizza and dress it up into a deep dish using our own wholesome ingredients!

For this project we bought a Major Supermarket Line Deli Pizza on sale for $4.99. It had the basics on it, sauce, three meat and a splash of shredded cheese. Then we picked up a small package, (8oz) shredded mozzarella cheese, a pack of pepperoni's, (4oz), and some ground italian sausage,(8oz), a small can of mushrooms, a chopped medium onion or other ingredients you desire.

First prepare a round cookie sheet type pan. place the cardboard on the pan, (if no cardboard use newspaper), and then place two strips of foil in the shape of a cross on top of the cardboard in the round pan, (This step is very important, most grills will burn your pizza crust bottom long before the pizza is cooked. Placing a paper barrier between the foil under pizza and the pan prevents sticking and scorching.) . Place pizza on foil and round foil edges to protect the crust from scorching.

Let you frozen pizza thaw, or at least soften a bit. Heat grill to 400-425 degrees.

Layer the following in this order, this is also very important, I made real pizza for a living once, this works best in the home oven and assures thorough cooking of both meats and veggies:

Mozzarella Cheese
Sausage, (dime sized pinches)

Sprinkle with Parmesion if you have it.

Place in the center of your grill or oven and bake for 45 minute to an hour until done to YOUR liking.

Living Full Time in Our Fifth Wheel RV - Reflections after a Decade....

Still a Road Warrior Even with the Legs Down!
It seems like just yesterday I was a "Raw" Beginner, Greenhorn".. a Newbie who bought every little miniature plastic kitchen device she saw in stores the decade before in anticipation of someday pulling out of the yard in my new "Doll House".

Yes! We are still alive after 10 years on the road living the RV Lifestyle!
I plan on blogging again so I hope you're ready for more!

Both Doyle and I became very ill the last couple of years and somehow we managed to survive, well, the truth is, we survived BECAUSE WE LOVE EACH OTHER! When he was hooked up to the IVs I stood vigil over him and he stood vigil over me when I was drenched in sweat and writhing in pain in my bed. If you have that going for each other, your life on the road will not be hard. I'm not saying we don't have our moments and that we are perfect, far from it. But we know we got it where it counts and The Rest does Not Matter...

We are an Odd Couple. But we are a Happy Couple who wouldn't trade our way of life for anything.

I still feel no regrets for choosing to live this way and I love my Road Warrior RV more and more everyday. A quality build, with a little maintenance can last forever in temperate climates. I daresay they hold up better being lived in by two people, a dog and a cat than being stored for the season. We see a lot of nightmares opened up in the Winter when people return from the North.

While we are ever more enthusiastic about our smaller carbon footprint and more natural way of living, so many of our "Land Bound" friends are having nervous breakdowns about downsizing and losing their "Stuff". They are at a complete loss as to what to do when their personality has been hard wired into every possession in the house, whether you use it or not.

Stuff=Happiness for most of us trained in the good old fashioned American School system. "Hard Work makes a Big Check which buys Happiness" is the American credo. We were also raised absorbing programming and commercials on media with the clear intent of making us slaves to their products. This was some really bad stuff to do to people and that is why there was a "Back to Nature" movement that was labelled "Hippie" behavior by our future Masters of War and Industry. We folded like cheap suits and got on the treadmill.. had out Kids and amassed fortunes. Well, small fortunes. Fortunes that disappeared. Illness, financial ruin, all sorts of things have happened to turn loose about 4 million more RV owners out there than before 2008... a sad milestone when you think most were forced from their homes.

There are good people here but you don't see them, they have lives and are mostly seasonal, but there is trouble in our little slice of heaven, and I would not have you ignorant about how life can be in an RV Park, so stay tuned for the frustrations of a few people ruining things for everyone...sigh.. Drama is EVERYWHERE Folks, even among the "retired".

Join me as I continue my Full Time RV Journey!
